BILL BRIMM

Bill Brimm was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, where his early life was shaped by a natural creative impulse that would define his artistic path. Raised in a conservative Southern Baptist family in the American South, Brimm was profoundly influenced by the cultural dynamics of religion, which became key themes in his artwork. His passion for art emerged early and guided his ambitions long before he could fully express them.

He pursued formal training in the arts, earning a Bachelor of Science in Art from Middle Tennessee State University. Following his education, Brimm co-owned Emmanuel Stained Glass Studio, Inc. for the past 37 years, retiring in 2019. Through this studio, he spent much of his career designing and producing commissioned stained glass works for churches, blending traditional techniques with his evolving artistic vision.

Since retirement, Brimm has worked at his East Nashville home studio. He resides with his partner, Andrew, and their two dogs, Sookie and Paco.

Faith, Fraud, and Fear

February 7th - February 28th, 2026

Faith, Fraud, and Fear delves into the complex and troubling themes of religion, greed, and governmental abuse. Social ills prevalent in contemporary society are confronted through a powerful combination of assemblages, digital still lifes, and music-inspired digital collages. The use of rat traps reflects a sense of entrapment many of us feel, be it political, social, or personal. Brimm views this exhibition as fear hanging on the walls. Viewers are invited to confront uncomfortable truths and reflect on the implications of oppression in their lives and communities.
