Coop New Members show #2, with works by Shannon Clark, Morgan Higby-Flowers, Virginia Griswold, and Thomas Sturgill.

Bios:

Shannon Clark is a photography and digital media artist originally from Nashville, TN. Shannon enjoys working with original and found imagery and often creates work that comments on contemporary American culture and societal issues. Shannon received a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and an MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design.  Shannon currently teaches at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN.

Morgan Higby-Flowers graduated with an MFA from the Electronic Integrated Arts program, NYSCC at Alfred University (Alfred, NY) and with a BFA from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago, and has served as visiting faculty at Austin Peay State University and Ball State University (Muncie, IN). His work has been performed and exhibited extensively in Chicago and New York as well as in Mexico City, Barcelona and Cairo. He works as an Assistant Professor of Time Media at Watkins College of Art, Design, and Film, Nashville, TN.

Virginia Griswold received an MFA in Sculpture/Glass from Alfred University, Alfred, NY in 2011 and a BFA in Glass/ Material Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA in 2004. In 2009, she received a Brooklyn Arts Council Re-Grant to fund the project: What it is, What it will be: Objects Found and Altered in Brooklyn, as well as, a fellowship in Sculpture from the New York Foundation for the Arts. In 2014, she was an Artist-in-Residence at Gullkistan: A Residency for Creative People in Laugarvatn, Iceland. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Sculpture and 3D Foundations at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN.

Thomas Sturgill was born and raised in Pound, Virginia, a rural company town whose heyday had long passed.   In 2002 he received his undergraduate degree in sculpture from the University of Tennessee, in Knoxville,  Tennessee. Sturgill received and MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Carnegie Mellon University in 2006.  He has exhibited domestically and internationally.  He works both solo and collaboratively. Sturgill is a founding member of the artist collective, Pulled Resources. Thomas Sturgill currently lives and works in Nashville, Tennessee and is presently an Assistant Professor in Foundations at Middle Tennessee State University.
